Before I go

Bags are being pulled out from under the bed, clothes are sorted, toenails have been polished (hello toes, haven't seen you for a while), and the animals are starting to look at us sideways. They know something's up!
I'm having a birthday while we're away, and I'm feeling very special with my friends getting in early with phone calls, cards, and a few little parcels in the post.
At this rate, I could possibly spread the celebrations out for a whole week.
Thanks to Pia for this card. It looks just like my suspicious cat Tiger!
Now, you know I can't possibly open any of my presents just yet, but I will have to do it before we go tomorrow afternoon.
I'm still enjoying the looking!

Are we there yet?

Travelling in style with this sweet little case!

Golly, it's cold here this morning. We got hailed on during our morning walk.
It's the tail end of Winter, and I think I'll be glad to see the end of it.
Yes, I know I will!
Just as well the old bloke and I are taking ourselves off on a little holiday at the end of this week.
We'll be going north to see some friends in sunny Brisbane, and then....(pause for effect), a week in Byron Bay!
Hooray for that!
Today I'm trying to think about what clothes to pack in my bag. It feels a bit weird looking at summery t-shirts while wearing 2 jumpers and my ugg boots!

While I was away

This week is proving to be busier than I'd thought it would be. A little flurry of orders waiting for me after Magnolia Square had me back in the workroom and off to the post office yesterday.
But this afternoon I'm baking a cake, making pea and ham soup, and watching the rain bucketing down outside. It's a great day to be snug indoors!
While I was busy up in Melbourne, the Ink & Spindle girls were hard at work in their studio printing up this new fabric for me. It was waiting for me when I got home, and of course, I had to wait for just the right moment to open the parcel!
Another custom colourway just for me, and I couldn't be happier with the result.
My photo doesn't quite capture how lovely this is, the green is a bit more green, and the base a bit more beige. It's luscious!

It was the best of times!

I'm home again after my trip to Melbourne for Magnolia Square.
I had such a wonderful time spending 3 days in the Malvern Town Hall with so many great girls for company.
Everyone's stalls looked beautiful, the crowds were amazing, and I've come home with some really special things.
Here's some things to share!

The Frankie & Ray stand all set up and ready to go on Thursday morning. I think this was the last time it looked this neat!
(Who is that gorgeous girl in the mirror I wonder?? Could it be my neighbour Anne?!)

A present for the old bloke from Crayon Chick, the maker of the best zip purses, to keep his camera and bits and pieces in. Don't you just love those sassy girls?

This lovely sparrow brooch for me from Linda, who was as gorgeous as all her beautiful Delilah Devine goodies. It's one of the best things about being at these events, you meet the nicest people!

And another sensational piece from the incredible Luce Handmade.
This one nearly escaped coming home with me, being found by one of Anne's customers before I spotted it!
Lucky for me, she chose another piece to take home with her. Boy, that was close!
Today I'm planning on enjoying some sunshine and taking it a bit easy!

Nearly....

Tomorrow morning I'll be packing the car ready to head off to Melbourne!
Nearly there.
Time for just one more cosy perhaps?
